A month ago, I told my husband that our 13-year-old’s teacher asked me to help in her class. I’m a writer, and she’s teaching narrative writing. I mentioned it again two weeks ago to make sure he had the 7th open to watch the baby so I could help out.
And I reminded him yet again at the beginning of this week. Today, he texts me asking if he can work on the 7th AND the 8th. I told him again, the 7th is a no-go because I’m helping in Vincent’s class, and the 8th is the day our middle son has a birthday party he was invited to.
Then, he calls me furious saying, “This is why we never have money!” and that I need to figure something out. Excuse me?! I’ve been reminding him about all of this for a month! A MONTH!
And last week, I told him about Alister’s party and asked him to keep the 8th open also so I could take our middle son to it without dragging the baby and 13-year-old along. But no. He still thinks he can just change the plan.
So, I told him, “Fine. If you’re going to ask to work those days, I’ll just drop the baby off at your job and you can watch her there.” He had the audacity to call me an absolute asshole.
